Pad-see-Who's That Girl?

So tonight Karyn and I went out to dinner with my bro-in-law Justin and our niece Lucy at Thai Pavillion in downtown Rockville. My sister and other niece Madelyn are in San Diego visiting family so the four of us were looking forward to a bonding dinner.

So we got there and there were about 10 people in the whole restaurant (Hmmm, softening U.S. economy or the fact that it was 5:30pm? - you make the call). When we sat down, Lucy asked as usual Aunt Karyn, I want to sit next to you. Then the waitress came by and started taking our drink orders. Justin, lemonade, Uncle Howie and Aunt Karyn, diet coke then the waitress looked at Lucy and said and you sir?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Lucy was wearing a brown shirt with sparkling pink hearts on it!!!! And, oh by the way, she looks like a girl. The amusing thing was that Lucy, who is quite frankly the world's smartest 6 year old (and no I am not just being biased) quickly said... Why did that waitress call me sir, she should have called me ma'am? I guess if I had earrings on, she would have been able to tell...

We all laughed hysterically because kids really do say the darnedest things....

A wonderful trip to the land of enchantment

Karyn, her mother, and I have just returned from a wonderful long weekend to Santa Fe, New Mexico. We went for the July 4th weekend and saw beautiful sites, had great food (I LOVE THE FOOD THERE!) and go to a performance of the Santa Fe Opera.

It was truly a great trip and if you are interested in seeing photos, please click on the link below:
