Behold the power of the All-Inclusive bracelet

Well Concourse H is back from a wonderful relaxing 5 day trip to the Riu Palace Mexico Resort in Playa Del Carmen. Everything was super easy with this trip, the flights (except for a brief delay on the runway at National due to Atlanta ATC congestion), the transfer to the hotel, the rooms, etc. This was my first time at an "all-inclusive" resort which is essentially a cruise ship on land. Everything is included and you don't have to worry about any money or expenses after your initial payment. We did have a couple awkward moments where we weren't sure if we had to tip or not but no one else seemed to be doing it either.

The beach was gorgeous and the food was good for the most part. I had a little overdose on nachos and hot mexican cheese. The best part of the trip was the Blue Coral drinks that I had on the beach, at the swim-up bar, in the piazza at night and at meals. That's the beauty of all-inclusive - you can have as many frozen drinks as you want (BTW, those of you who know me know that I am not a huge drinker but I guess Mexico does that to you!).

The other interesting part of the trip was that it was myself and 5 women (my male-friends had conflicts - BOO!). For the most part, I have no complaints as the group of ladies were very flexible and willing to roll with the punches, which was very nice. I did get reminded a lot about how to take appropriate swim suit pictures and it turns out they definitely had comments on the various topless women who were roaming the beaches.

So the All-inclusive bracelet was pretty awesome - you can even see it in the picture above. I will say that it wasn't fun to have the bracelet on while showering and putting on sun-tan lotion but it was a necessary evil of the tropical trip.
